Real algebraic geometry is a branch of mathematics whose origins date back at least to René Descartes' "Discours de la méthode."The sixteenth of Hilbert's famous problems is also devoted to it.It has experienced remarkable growth over the last twenty-five years, particularly with the emergence of tropical geometry, and has forged close links with enumerative geometry, symplectic geometry, mathematical physics, and probability theory. The aim of this program is to bring together in Lyon researchers of all generations who have contributed to this field.
